American Dream has teased that it has been ‘working hard on big projects’ while closed, as the attraction welcomes visitors back to its indoor ski park Big SNOW.

Big SNOW American Dream, the first indoor, real-snow ski and snowboard centre in North America, boasts four acres of snowy slopes.

The attraction reopened on Tuesday (September 1) but is operating at 25 percent capacity, with sanitised rental gear and online-only ticket purchases.

“Skiing and snowboarding are great naturally socially distant recreation activities, and we are all very excited to be able to open Big SNOW for our guests again,” said Hugh Reynolds, vice president of marketing and sales, SNOW Operating.

“Our team has been working very hard these past few months to reinvent what the Big SNOW experience will look like in today’s COVID world,” he added.

“I’m confident that our guests will see and feel the results of that work when they visit us, and we’re looking forward to sharing the experience with them.”

Team members at Big SNOW will undergo daily health screenings and temperature checks, while face-to-face interactions inside have been limited.

Additionally, face coverings are required for all guests and team members, and gloves required for all guests entering the snow.

Big SNOW has introduced increased sanitisation, with all high-touch areas such as counters, handrails and restrooms being cleaned regularly.

In addition, American Dream shared an update via email saying it ‘can’t wait to have you back’, teasing ‘big projects’ and sharing a digital ride on Aang’s Air Gliders at Nickelodeon Universe.

American Dream co-CEO Mark Ghermezian recently opened up about the future of experiential retail amid COVID-19. He also spoke about safety via an app and compared the project to Disneyland.

Mark Ghermezian will be speaking at the blooloop V-Expo, running from October 13 to 15. Don’t miss out – register here today.
