American Wave Machines, a leading wave pool, surf park, and wave technology company, helped to make history at the National Finals for the Rip Curl Grom Search Series, held on PerfectSwell at BSR.

American Wave Machines is pleased to announce that the National Finals for the Rip Curl Grom Search Series were held on PerfectSwell at BSR in Waco, Texas. This world-renowned competition has been going for 20 years and has propelled previous winners to international fame. The event was the first-ever junior competition to be held in a wave pool and live-streamed around the globe.

Barefoot Ski Ranch (BSR) Cable Park Resort is home to a two-acre surf lake with waves, created by American Wave Machines. This PerfectSwell installation in the heart of Texas proved to be an ideal location for the Rip Curl Grom Search finals.

During the event, 72 athletes competed in Boys and Girls 16 and Under categories for National Championship Titles. Former competitors and winners of the event include well-known names such as Gabriel Medina, Mason Ho, Jordy Smith, Alana Blanchard, and Sally Fitzgibbons.

The winners now have a chance to compete in the RCGS International Final at Bells Beach, Australia, in conjunction with the WSL World Championship Tour event in 2020.

American Wave Machines is the creator of PerfectSwell surf pools and surf lagoons – an authentic surf experience that can be enjoyed by over 1000 visitors at a time. The technology utilises an air-powered system to mimic real ocean waves, creating sets of waves on demand.

It also delivers SurfStream venues, which are available from 5,000 to 20,000 square ft and can cater to hundreds of guests. Since 2007 more than 3 million surf sessions have been enjoyed at American Wave Machines locations across the world.

The company recently announced an exclusive licensing agreement with JHSF Participacoes SA, for two new PerfectSwell projects in Brazil.
