A new character has been added to the Justice League: A Call For Heroes walk-through exhibit at Madame Tussauds Orlando. And thanks to Holovis, Aquaman offers an immersive, interactive experience for guests of the celebrity wax attraction.
The Justice League exhibit, which launched in May of this year, allows Madame Tussauds guests to star alongside characters as they participate in a series of interactive adventures and bring the superheroes’ powers to life. The sequences are brought to life using combinations of projection mapping, enhanced audio and special effects.
In the Aquaman sequence, visitors are immersed in a sequence of mapped media featuring sea creatures and a giant kraken, together with synchronised lighting, audio and water blasts. To trigger his powers, guests must grab the half-human, half-Atlantean’s trident to harness the force of the sea.
Holovis is responsible for the technology within the Justice League: A Call For Heroes. The experience design company has focused on keeping it invisible, so visitors are unaware of the tech around them.
Three other characters are featured in the Orlando installation: Wonder Woman, Superman and Batman. The experience can also be enjoyed at Madame Tussauds Sydney, which has the addition of The Flash.
Madame Tussauds’ attention to detail
“At Madame Tussauds, we pride ourselves on offering our guests the ultimate fame experience,” says James Paulding, general manager of the Orlando venue. “We were honoured to showcase our recreation of Jason Momoa as Aquaman so people can see firsthand our mind-blowingly accurate attention to detail.”
“This is the latest stage in the redevelopment of Madame Tussauds into an immersive and interactive experience,” adds Cody Martin, North America project manager for Midway attractions at Merlin Entertainments. “We’ve had an incredible team working on this project, from Merlin Magic Making who developed the overall concept to Holovis designing and delivering the AV, show lighting and interactive elements, Daniel’s Wood Land creating the stunning environment and Rich Co Group providing the flooring.”
