Leading creator of mobile visitor apps, Attractions.io has won a major Public Relations Society of America award for its Las Vegas Springs Preserve app.

Features include an interactive map and key information about all the available activities and exhibits. Visitors can also use the app to buy tickets.

According to Attrractions.io, the core motivation for developing an app was to address the issue of wayfinding at the Preserve. The team were particularly keen to ensure that guests with strollers and wheelchairs could successfully navigate the elevators and ramps on-site.

It also made sense from an environmental point-of-view as it would significantly reduce the need for paper maps.

By leveraging the innovative wayfinding capabilities of the Attractions.io platform, the app can pinpoint visitors’ exact location on-site and give instant directions to any attraction or facility.

In addtion, the app alerts users when the quickest route contains uneven terrain or stairs. It offers alternative routes that avoid those areas, taking advantage of elevators where necessary.

“It has been a vital tool in helping visitors find their way around our property and discover all the fun activities we have to offer,” confirms Las Vegas Spring Preserve’s Public Information Coordinator, Ashleigh Matview.

“Winning a PRSA Pinnacle Award for the Springs Preserve mobile app is a huge honour, and we couldn’t be happier with how the app turned out.”

Since launching in August last year, the app has smashed all expectations, attracting over five times the target number of users.

Building on this success, the Preserve is now trialling beacon technology to enhance the guest experience even further. This will allow them to proactively send highly-targeted content to visitors as they explore the site.

Attractions.io was founded in 2009 following the introduction of Apple’s app store. Since then, the company has transformed the visitor experience with its proven technology in theme parks, museums, zoos, aquariums and more.
