World’s first sports-gaming lounge powered by ValoMotion’s Augmented Climbing Wall

The world’s first sports-gaming lounge powered by Valo Motion’s Augmented Climbing Wall (ValoClimb) has opened in Dortmund, Germany.

Augmented Climbing Hall features 6 climbing walls, each offering 6 applications to choose from. Designed to cater to all fitness levels, guests can try their hand at everything from kiddy fun climbing to advanced training.

The venue offers cozy seating areas, snacks and drinks, and shoe rental, as well as a viewing area. Suited to all ages and sizes, Augmented Climbing Hall is ideal for fun-climbing, birthday parties, company events, school groups and training.

At Augmented Climbing Hall ‘players feel like superheroes’

“Ordinary climbing walls turn into huge interactive touch-screens that immerse players in a world of fun, superhuman excitement and real exercise. Everyone can play irrespective of age or climbing experience. The games guarantee players will feel like superheroes in the real world,” claims the team behind the new attraction.

Alexander Röstel, who came up with the concept, envisioned a destination where people could enjoy ‘a great sportutainment experience, make friends and have a fun time’. Delivering the guest experience alongside him are Angeline Rutkowski (pictured with Röstel) and Ziad Attar.

Founded in 2016, Valo Motion is a leader in combining interactive technology with physical activities. ValoClimb is the product of over 6 years’ of development and post-doctoral research at the university of Helsinki. Valo Motion applies this technology to develop fun games to encourage people to be more active. Today, ValoClimb is present in over 40 countries around the globe.

Valo Motion continues to expand its global reach. In August the company announced a new partnership with ELI Play, Europe’s largest builder of trampoline and leisure parks. Both ValoClimb and ValoJump will be adding to the ELI Play experience at venues around Europe. ValoJump turns trampolines into an interactive gaming experience where players can score points and see themselves in the game via an interactive screen.
