BALPPA, the British Association of Leisure, Parks, Piers and Attractions, has announced that it will be rescheduling its upcoming trade expo to November 2020.

BALPPA will be hosting the rescheduled trade show at the same venue, Drayton Manor, but the new date has been announced as Tuesday 24 November. It was originally due to take place on Thursday 23 April. The free to attend exhibition will be a chance to meet over 30 suppliers and to discover a wide range of products and services for the leisure, play, theme park and attractions industry.

Exhibitors will include companies showcasing food and beverage, ticketing systems, lost and found software, insurance and mobile apps. A selection of leading ride manufacturers, designers and builders of concepts for play areas and attractions will also be in exhibiting. In addition to this, attendees can meet operators who provide marketing support, cleaning and maintenance services, as well as digital analytics and forensics.

Networking and professional development

The event provides an excellent opportunity to network with friends and colleagues in the industry. There will also be a marketing seminar, held on Wednesday 25 November as well as a Health and Safety seminar on Thursday 26 November. There will also take place at Drayton Manor.

On the evening of Tuesday 23 November, BALPPA will be hosting its annual awards event. This recognises members who have demonstrated outstanding achievements over the course of the year and covers categories such as visitor attraction of the year, employee of excellence, family attraction of the year, inclusivity award and excellence in food and beverage.

BALPPA was founded in 1936 and has over 300 members, including much-loved attractions such as the London Eye, Blackpool Pleasure Beach, Madame Tussauds, Alton Towers and Thorpe Park. It represents the interests of the UK’s commercial leisure parks, piers, zoos and visitor attractions.

It runs over 40 events for its members every year, including educational seminars, evening receptions and regional conferences.
