At the eighth annual Ticketing Business Forum earlier this month, National Museums Liverpool picked up an Impact Award. This was in recognition of the organisation’s first ever in-house ticketing system, supplied by Gateway Ticketing Systems.

The team at National Museums Liverpool worked with Gateway to build an effective long-term solution for its eight museums and galleries in the British city. It has since enjoyed great commercial success. Last year, for example, it sold more than 600,000 tickets for the blockbuster China’s First Emperor and the Terracotta Warriors exhibition at World Museum.

“We’re delighted to have been recognised with the Impact Award by the Ticketing Business Forum,” says National Museums Liverpool’s Stacey Hammond. “Working with the Gateway team to establish and successfully run a ticketing system for an exhibition as successful as China’s First Emperor and the Terracotta Warriors has been the perfect springboard for staging future ticketed exhibitions and events at our museums and galleries.”

“We could not be more excited for National Museums Liverpool,” says Andy Povey, Managing Director for Gateway Ticketing Systems UK. “Utilising Galaxy Connect has enabled them to sell time and capacity-controlled tickets in real time through different online agents and partners. The team in Liverpool have become so proficient that they are now rolling out the system for new exhibitions including Charles Rennie Mackintosh: Making the Glasgow Style at the Walker Art Gallery.”

The Ticketing Business Forum is the world’s most important get-together for ticketing providers in sports and entertainment. The 2019 event was held on April 9 in Manchester, England.

Gateway Ticketing Systems’ UK office was opened in central London in 2012 to better serve its European customers in museums, galleries, theme parks, historic houses and gardens, zoos and aquariums.
