Adult active play at Big Bounce mega inflatable theme park

The Big Bounce America (aka the largest bounce house in the world) is returning to the US for its 2019 tour.

Kicking off in March, the travelling amusement park will be visiting over 40 cities across 25 states.

The biggest inflatable theme park ever, Big Bounce features America’s largest inflatable obstacle course, and the world’s largest bounce house.

Adult active play

Amid a growing trend for adult active play, the event is introducing two new attractions this year – a 900-foot long obstacle course, and a space-themed wonderland.

One of three attractions, The Bouncer offers dodgeball games, inflatable animals, ball pits, climbing towers, confetti blasts, and a DJ playing songs.

New this year is The Giant – a 900-foot long bounce house obstacle course, with climbing and a monster slide.

Also new is the third bounce house, called airSPACE. It’s made up of three sections filled with aliens, spaceships, giant planets and moon craters. At the centre of the weird and wonderful airSPACE is a 60-foot tall maze.

Grahame Ferguson, co-founder of The Big Bounce America, said: “The Big Bounce America had amazing success across the US, now having visited over 75 cities.

“Heading into 2019, we knew we had to up the ante. Adding The Giant and airSPACE gives the 2019 tour a really unique spin.

“This event will continue to leave children, as well as adults, in awe when they arrive and happily exhausted when they leave. We can’t wait to show America what we have been brewing up for 2019!”

The idea to include an adult only session when the kids had gone home came to Ferguson after the 2017 tour. He told Time Out: “We [produced] an event as part of a big musical festival and the organizers had created a small family section, which included a fairly standard bounce house. When the kids weren’t using it, and nobody was looking, we snuck on and bounced around like were kids again.

What if adults could bounce?

“Then it dawned on us: What if we made a much bigger bounce house? What if we built the biggest one in the world? What if adults could bounce? What it had a DJ Booth, ball pits, foam pits, slides and more!?”

Sensory sensitive sessions

Elsewhere, sensory sensitive tickets are now on sale. The sensory sensitive sessions are suitable for those with autism and others who want to avoid the sensory overload of regular sessions.

During these inclusive sessions, both the music and capacity will be reduced by 50 percent with an emphasis on a more relaxed environment.
