Leading adventure attractions specialist, Ropes Courses Inc. (RCI) has installed an outdoor Sky Trail Explorer at Big Cedar Lodge, Missouri.

The multi-level attraction is set to open at the wilderness resort this summer. And, according to Founder and Owner of Bass Pro Shops and Big Cedar Lodge, Johnny Morris, there will be an added layer of excitement to the new attraction:

“With live alligators and pythons living beneath this four-story wonder, it’s sure to elevate the challenge and thrill of the ropes course, while being perfectly safe,” he says.

COST was responsible for shop drawings and construction of the alligator exhibit.  The firm’s scope includes complete mechanical system installation, view windows, earth bank and sandy beach theme textures, and faux stump features.

“We want Fun Mountain visitors to experience the beauty of the Ozarks in a whole new way that is unlike anything else in the region.”

Standing over 40 ft. tall, the Sky Trail Explorer features over 60 different challenges including elements such as a rolling log, swaying ladder, and narrow balancing beam. Wearing a safety harness, participants of all abilities can test their skills as they attempt to complete the adventure.

The attraction includes two electronic Sky Rail zip lines giving visitors a whole new perspective as they zip over the attractions below. Those looking for added thrills can try the QUICKjump free fall from a platform at the top of the ropes course.

Youngsters need not miss out on the ropes course action. The resort already boasts a Sky Tykes course designed for smaller children aged 2-7 or under 48 inches tall.

“We have had the privilege of building our attractions in many beautiful places around the world, but this spectacular setting in the midst of the Ozarks has been one of our most visually stunning locations,” comments Jim Liggett, Founder and Owner of RCI.

“We love projects that allow us to integrate with a beautiful natural environment—we hope it makes the experience that much more appealing for visitors and guests.”
