We are pleased to reveal the blooloop 50 Museum Influencer list 2020, celebrating innovative leaders in the global museum sector.

The inaugural blooloop 50 Museum Influencer List is brought to you in association with our friends at global museum planning and design firm Gallagher & Associates.

After a difficult year for museums around the world, the list celebrates some of the people whose innovation and creativity are helping the sector during this challenging time.

The full blooloop Museum Infleuncer list 2020 is here.

Nominations opened in July and blooloop readers were invited to tell us who they thought had a significant impact on the museum world during 2020. By the time the process had closed in September, we had received thousands of nominations from over 50 countries. These were then whittled down to a long list. This was then sent to our panel of judges, who had the difficult task of narrowing it down to a final 50.

Each of the judges has a wealth of experience and expertise, and with many decades working in the sector between them, this panel has helped to shape a list that reflects this diverse and vibrant sector.

This year, our judges were Ngaire Blankenberg, Clare Brown, Corinne Estrada, Jo Marsh, Joyoti Roy, Annette Welkamp and Charles Read.

With over 250,000 unique visitors a month, blooloop reaches the largest audience of museum and attractions professionals in the world. We stay on top of news, trends and developments across the sector. While no list can be definitive, we feel that this exposure, combined with the knowledge and experience of our judges, has resulted in a list of truly inspirational people.

Thank you

Thanks to everyone who took the time to nominate. We had a huge amount of feedback and it was great to see people within the industry celebrating each other’s achievements. As we recover from the impacts of COVID-19, it is this community spirit, as well as the creativity and innovation that our Blooloop 50 winners embody, that will help the sector thrive again.

If you didn’t see someone who you think is deserving on the list this year, don’t forget to nominate them in 2021!
