Kati will be talking about her work at the V&A and sharing insights and opinions on the most recent developments in the ever-changing world of digital media at blooloopLIVE London 2015.
TONY GUILLAN, Multimedia Producer, Tate & ADAM CLARKE, Lead Artist and Project Manager on Tate Worlds
Tony is a creative producer with experience working on multimedia projects for museums, including apps, games, video content, interactive installations and events. He currently manages the IK Prize at Tate, an annual competition that searches for innovative ways to engage the public with art from Tate’s collection using digital technology.
In collaboration with The Workers, winners of IK Prize 2014, Tony co-produced the highly successful After Dark project, which saw camera-equipped robots roam Tate Britain’s galleries at night, controlled and watched online by thousands of people world-wide.
Working with Adam Clarke, Tony is producer of Tate Worlds, an ongoing project that re-imagines Tate artworks as virtual environments in the online gaming world Minecraft.
Currently, he is working with Flying Object, winners of IK Prize 2015, to develop their project Tate Sensorium, an installation that will technologically stimulate all five senses in response to artworks, due to open at Tate Britain in the autumn.
Adam, Digital Producer The Common People, uses Minecraft, games, traditional art and technology to inspire and entertain, working globally with institutions, museums, schools and companies. He produces an online YouTube Channel “Everyday Minecraft”. His current project, Tateworlds, is a series of playable Minecraft maps where the player can explore and interact with famous artworks. He has recently worked with David Best and Artichoke on Templecraft in Derry-LondonDerry.
“Lots of people enjoy labels and call me a technologist or digital artist – but really I am just very curious and I enjoy pressing the wrong buttons and making thing up as I go along.”
Tony and Adam will be talking about Tate Worlds at blooloopLIVE London 2015. See blooloop feature – Inhabiting Art: the Genius of Tate Worlds in Minecraft
CHRIS MICHAELS, Head of Digital & Publishing, The British Museum
Chris Michaels’ mission is to “help the world's first museum achieve its founding goal of being the Museum of and for the world, by fully embracing the potential of mobile, the cloud and big data to transform our visitors' experiences of our programmes and collection.”
He will be discussing this mission at blooloopLIVE.
COLETTE HILLIER, Artistic Director, Sing London
If Statues Could talk what stories would they tell? Talking Statues combines compelling narratives with mobile technology to breathe new life to public statues. Sing London commissioned some of the UK’s most prestigious writers and actors to animate statues across London and Manchester. Pass a talking statue, swipe your phone on a nearby tag and presto, you get a call from Isaac Newton or Sherlock Holmes or….Queen Victoria.
Colette is artistic director of Sing London, the non-profit arts organisation who work in public spaces. Past projects include filling London’s public spaces with streets pianos and installing 1000 public ping pong tables across the UK. Talking Statues is being adapted for new cities. This summer sees the launch of Talking Statues Berlin and Talking Statues Chicago. Colette will be telling us more about Talking Statues at blooloopLIVE London 2015.
