Cedar Point has announced exclusive ‘sneak peek’ events and nostalgic pre-opening experiences ahead of its historic 150th anniversary season, which begins on May 9.

Kicking off on May 2 and 3 is ‘Just for Fun Weekend’, which invites guests to relive Cedar Point’s past, when visiting was free and each attraction had its own ticket price.

Just for Fun Weekend guests will be the first to try treats at French Quarter Confections, visit the Peanuts characters, and see a special film celebrating Cedar Point’s history.

They will also be the first to check out limited-edition merchandise at Celebration Central at Pagoda Gift Shop, and can purchase, collect and trade anniversary buttons.

On the evening of May 2, Cedar Point will host the Sesquicentennial Gala in the Cedar Point Ballroom, featuring live music from the Bluewater Kings.

The Sesquicentennial Gala will also boast roving entertainment, an open bar, hors d’oeuvres stations, and displays with memorabilia from Cedar Point’s history.

In addition, all 2020 Platinum Passholders are invited to an exclusive Cedar Point event with select rides, attractions and new dining options.

These include French Quarter Confections, The Roost, The Mac Shack and The Corral. Exclusive anniversary merchandise will be available at Celebration Central.

Platinum Passholder Anniversary Preview Nights will be held on May 6 and 7. Platinum Passholders will also be some of the first to enjoy the new Snake River Expedition.

Snake River Expedition boat ride is a nod to Cedar Point’s former Western Cruise and Paddlewheel Excursions boat rides.

Guests will embark on riverboats scientifically designed for exploration and adventure, travelling along the Snake River surrounding Forbidden Frontier on Adventure Island.

Cedar Point’s 150th anniversary includes events such as ‘Celebrate 150 Spectacular’, a multi-sensory night-time parade with illuminating floats and more than 100 performers.

What’s more, the theme park is holding two new self-guided history tours of Cedar Point, as well as a ‘Taste of The Point’ food tour.
