Chimelong first waterpark in China to use Neptune-Benson Defender® Filters

Neptune-Benson have announced that Chimelong Water Park will be the first waterpark in China to use their Defender® filters.   Three of the award winning regenerative media filters will be used in two new attractionBarry Gertz CEO Neptune_Benson manufacturers of award winning defender filtration systems, a Lazy River and Slide Pool, due to open in May 2012.

Chimelong Water Park, situated on a site of over 400, 000 square meters in Guangzhou, China,   is the largest and most advanced water park in the world.   Waterpark design experts Forrec and WhiteWater West, together with Cloward, who design flow systems, worked with Chimelong’s management team to select Defender® filters for the new attractions.

The Defender® filter offers signichimelong water park logoficant economic and operational advantages for Chimelong.  Firstly, the filters provide exceptional water quality, helping to ensure visitor safety bMike Turner Neptune-Bensony eliminating over 99.9% of cryptosporidium, a key concern.  Secondly, by elimination over 90% of backwash waste water compared to sand filter operation, the Defender® also supports Chimelong’s sustainability goals.  Although the cost of water is not currently an issue for Chimelong, management have identified that the nation’s water shortage will probably result in price increases in the future.  By using Defender® filters Chimelong will reduce waste from water and chemical losses as well as making savings on electricity and construction.
