With over 500 exhibitors from 14 countries, the upcoming 33rd China Attractions Expo (CAE) in Beijing will be the biggest trade show for theme park, attractions and leisure professionals in Asia. Organised by the Chinese Association of Amusement Parks and Attraction (CAAPA), the event takes place from April 1 to 3.

Amidst a global economic slowdown, the theme park industry in China continues to grow, reports CAAPA. The number of exhibitors at CAE 2019, the size of the show and its popularity mirror this growth. Exhibit space is up 75% this year compared to 2018.

Among the international names confirmed for CAE 2019 are Alterface, Attraktion, Bolliger & Mabillard, Brogent Technologies, Concept 1900, Holovis, Huss, Intamin, Jora Vision, KCC Entertainment Design, Lagotronics Projects, Mack Rides, Wiegand Maezler, Martin & Vleminckx, Maurer Rides, NEC, PDC, Polin Waterparks, Premier Rides, The Producers Group, ProSlide, Severn Lamb, Simtec, S&S-Sansei, Triotech, Vekoma, Vortex Aquatic Structures, Waterplay, Walltopia, WhiteWater, WTI, Zamperla, Zierer and more.

Over 60,000 industry professionals are expected to attend the 3-day event to encounter new products and trends, as well as build partnerships.

Immediately ahead of the show, CAAPA will be hosting the 15th China Cultural & Tourism Development Conference, on March 30 and 31. The theme for this year’s edition will be ‘New Start, New Thoughts and New Glory’.

Speakers will include leading players from theme parks, waterparks, indoor parks, commercial real estate, zoos, folk events, pastoral complexes, museums and other attractions. There will be case studies and content related to theme park operation, development of urban entertainment centres, design and safety of amusement equipment, plus the latest technology and trends impacting the ‘cultural entertainment’ industry in China.

The conference will be a weekend fixture, ahead of CAE’s start on Monday morning.
