CLEAR REEF, promoter and operator of oceanariums and aquariums, has announced an extended deadline for the CLEAR REEF Social Fund for Marine Research and Conservation.
The CLEAR REEF Social Fund is now open until midnight Dubai time on April 15th 2019.
The philanthropic initiative supports individual’s social/ development needs whilst furthering marine research and conservation projects. On average, 25 projects worldwide benefit from the fund every year.
The Social Fund provides financial support for citizens like students, researchers, unemployed, retirees or a person of good will, to help them run the research projects.
Any individual can apply, providing they are not acting on behalf of an organisation such as an NGO, a University or a state for example.
The yearly fund is allocated by the CLEAR REEF Steering Committee, made up of 20 renowned professionals from marine institutions across the world.
Previous possible applications have included:
- An eco-friendly individual wanting to promoting conservation action in their local community
- A researcher needing financial support to attend a specific congress
- A student seeking help for their studies in marine biology
- An unemployed person wanting a new start through a specific environmental training program
