The Colorado Tourism Office (CTO) is looking for a marketing agency to develop brand identities for their tourism regions.

Following the adoption of the new Colorado Tourism Roadmap in March, the CTO wants to be able to “promote all corners of the state to potential visitors more effectively” and “seeks to create new regional designations based on the assets that most likely would inspire consumers to come for a visit”.

To this end the project will look at redefining tourism regions and the associated strategic partnerships and promotions to “better promote distinctive travel experiences across the state”.

The agency chosen will be able to “apply a research-based approach to identifying regions that can serve as effective platforms for marketing collaborations among tourism partners within each respective region.”

Cathy Ritter, director of the Colorado Tourism Office, says, “In listening sessions across the state, we heard a strong interest in creation of marketing collaborations, but much frustration with how geographic boundaries had been drawn decades ago. With this project, we have a significant opportunity to research how visitors connect experiences across our state and use this knowledge to assist industry partners statewide in marketing more effectively.”

Longwoods International has been retained to conduct the search and interested agencies should contact George Zimmermann at Longwoods International (gzimmermann@longwoods-intl.com) to receive a copy of the RFP.

Deadline for proposals is September 15, 2017.
