Connect&GO provides smart wearables for NERF Challenge World Tour

Fun at the NERF Challenge World Tour, with RFID solutions by Connect&GO

Connect&GO, a leader in RFID solutions for the leisure, sports and attractions industry, is celebrating the launch of the NERF Challenge World Tour in LA, for which it has provided RFID wearables.

Connect&GO is pleased to announce that it has equipped the NERF Challenge Wolrd Tour with smart RFID wearables, in order to ensure a streamlined guest experience. The touring leisure attraction launched last December in Los Angeles and allows participants to enjoy a range of fun and competitive activities by the much-loved Hasbro franchise.

The company developed smart wristbands and a technological platform for the experience, to help guests engage seamlessly with the fun. The solution could integrate directly with the Los Angeles Staples Center ticketing system. This allowed them to purchase tickets online and digitally sign the required liability waivers at the same time.

A complete RFID system

“Creating an experience like this takes a lot of moving pieces and working with a company like Connect&GO allowed us to link the entire guest experience through a wearable,” says Logan Caldwell, Production Manager at Kilburn Live. “They brought ideas and solutions to deliver a complete RFID eco-system.”

When they arrived, guests simply had to scan their virtual tickets at Connect&GO’s self-service kiosk to get their wristbands. Only one ticket needed to be scanned per order, for everyone in the party to access their wristbands. These bands were linked to a personalised profile for each guest.

This meant that players could link their RFID wristbands with friends and family, letting them compete throughout the experience. Scores were also updated onto leaderboards, showing top scores for the hours, the day, and the entire competition.

A streamlined process

The NERF Challenge offers several solo and group activities. Thanks to the RFID system guests can simply reload their wristbands with more tokens to continue the fun, using a PCI-compliant mobile payment terminal and software co-developed by Connect&GO and payment company PayFacto.

“We are very proud to have successfully empowered a simple device that can easily be used for upsells, wristband payments, top-ups and point distribution,” says Dominic Gagnon, CEO of Connect&GO.

“The terminals can also be used to add VIP upgrades to a guest’s wristband and to offer special package deals that create secondary revenue streams for the attraction. Operators are particularly interested in the many opportunities of using a connected wristband system.”

The NERF Challenge is heading to Philadelphia in April for the next leg of the tour.

Connect&GO also recently provided its RFID solutions to London’s iconic Hyde Park Winter Wonderland. Guests enjoyed an easy way to pay for all the rides at the event, thanks to the company’s Ride Pass.
