Connect&GO, a leader in RFID solutions for the leisure, sports and attractions industry, has launched a new physical distancing and contact tracing solution called Safeband.

Connect&GO is proud to announce the launch of Safeband. This new solution has been designed to help attractions reopen while sticking to physical distancing guidelines and also includes a contact tracing feature.

Safebands are rechargeable and use a combination of BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy), Haptic Vibration, LED (light-emitting diode) and NFC (near-field communication) technologies. Alerts are triggered when two people wearing Safebands come within less than 2 metres of each other, with both a visual message and a vibration. The management platform also enables operators to access a detailed dashboard and real-time reports.

Physical distancing solution

“Governments around the world have published guidelines for employers to establish new health and safety protocols at their businesses such as physical distancing, minimizing contact between people and disinfection of common areas, ” says Dominic Gagnon, CEO of Connect&GO.

“Our Safeband solution was developed in response to these guidelines and to the widespread demand from businesses looking for a viable and accessible option to support their re-opening strategies.”

Safebands are a simple solution which can be configured within minutes, needing minimal infrastructure. The solution records data anonymously, meaning that operators can track users without impacting on their privacy, unlike similar contact tracing systems. The reports generated allow businesses to see areas where guests and employees often come into close contact with others, meaning they can take measures to avoid this.

Safe reopening

Safebands do not require an Internet connection and there is no need to download an app. The company has nearly 10 years of experience in smart wearables and is pleased to be able to use this to help attractions reopen safely.

“We have received hundreds of requests to adapt our wristbands for use in the COVID-era. The opportunity to license technology, pivot our focus and to deliver a complete solution that helps business safely re-open has been extremely motivating and makes us very proud to announce the launch of Safeband,” says Anthony Palermo, Co-Founder of Connect&GO.

The Safeband can also enable many other successful Connect&GO offerings, for example, access control, cashless payments and gamification.

Connect&GO is also providing cashless solutions to help attractions reopen safely after the COVID-19 closures.
