AI start-up Convious wins heavyweight prize at Get in the Ring The Netherlands

Convious, an innovative start-up that uses AI to deliver a personalised online booking and buying experience for visitors, has scooped the Heavyweight award at Get in the Ring The Netherlands.

The event in Rotterdam gives entrepreneurs the chance to pitch to investors, major multinationals, NGOs and governmental organisations.

Get in the Ring takes the form of 600 ‘speed-dates’, giving the start-ups numerous face-to-face opportunities to find customers and strategic partners to help grow their company.

The start-ups are also challenged to qualify for the evening programme which sees them pitch to the 700-strong audience in the ring. This year’s judges were Bas Beerens, founder of international software company, WeTransfer, Rogier Thewessen, founder of scale-up YoungCapital and entrepreneur, Janneke Niessen.

The awards are divided into Lightweight, Middleweight and Heavyweight, ensuring start-ups are only being judged against others of a similar size.

Convious fought off Felyx to scoop the coveted Heavyweight prize. This gives the company a ticket to the Global Meetup of Get in the Ring. In addition, they receive 1 year access to the EY Finance Navigator which was launched during the event.

AI platform personalises pricing to each user

‘This is another great nod from the industry that we’re heading in the right direction,’ says Convious. ‘Onward and upward! We look forward to having even more exciting news and achievements to share when we take Convious to the Global Finals happening next May in sunny Cascais, Portugal.’

Convious has developed a booking and buying platform that uses algorithms to personalise the entire experience. Every feature, from A/B testing to the personalised pricing module is powered by the company’s ‘AI first’ philosophy. Personalised pricing means that the system uses visitor behavior, data, intent and external elements like weather to deliver the optimal price for both parties.

Convious’ AI ticketing platform has been a success for Merlin Entertainment’s SEA LIFE Scheveningen in The Hague, where online ticket sales have doubled as a result of using the company’s innovative AI sales funnel solution.

According to Convious, this adaptive and reactive system means it keeps pace as the market evolves:

“We don’t pretend to know what the future holds,” says the company. ‘Trends shift and change all the time. Our AI driven models allow us to adapt in real-time to changing trends.”
