Cook’s Club is the new hotel brand of tour operator Thomas Cook. The hotel concept will be geared towards the needs of modern travellers between the ages of 18 and 35.

The first Cook’s Club house is now open in Hersonissos in Crete. There is a range of entertainment that the company say will set new standards in the hotel industry.

The new brand is also hoped to and pick up on some current trends in the industry.

There are four innovative attractions in the hotel’s entertainment area. It offers Escape Rooms, virtual reality games, a “Rage Room” and a private disco for exclusive small-scale parties.

A growing phenomenon is the rise of Escape Rooms. These are attractions where 2-7 people find themselves locked in a room for an hour. They have to get themselves out by solving brain teasers, puzzles and challenges. Cook’s Club presents three rooms with different scenarios: a horror scenario based on Stephen King’s cult novel “IT”, a bomb disposal scenario and finally a puzzle called “The Box”. Guests must solve various puzzles to escape from the room.

The Escape Rooms are suitable for up to seven participants each and last around 50 minutes.

“Rage Rooms” and VR

First seen in Japan, in a “Rage Room” guests don protective equipment and can let off steam by blithely smashing various objects such as bottles or vases with a tool of their choice, such as a baseball bat. This cathartic destruction helps guests release some anger and lasts for 20-40 minutes.

In three Virtual Reality zones guests can play alone or in small groups of up to three. Current VR game hits are available such as Arizona Sunshine, Beat Saber or Superhot. The playing time is 30 to 120 minutes.

The final highlight of Cook’s Club is the exclusive disco, which is already in demand among the guests.

It is a small club room which can accommodate up to ten visitors. It features everything you would need for a good party: a disco ball, karaoke, video screen and an extensive music playlist. The room is sound-proofed and can be rented by the minute for up to three hours.
