The Coronation Street external sets at Manchester’s MediaCityUK will open to the public from May 26th. Continuum Attractions to operate tours

Juliana Delaney is CEO of Continuum Attractions. She said: “It is with great pride we announce our operation of guided tours round the Coronation Street external sets at MediaCityUK from later this month. The show has such an extraordinary connection with their fans all across the world, we’re delighted some will be lucky enough to now follow in the footsteps of their favourite characters and walk down those famous cobbles.”

MediaCityUK’s external LOT will be open to the public, allowing them to walk the real Coronation Street cobbles and experience the real sets of the much-loved TV show.

For a limited run – 15 select weekend dates only in 2018 – the Coronation Street tours will start later this month. Tickets  are £35 and can be bought from 8am, Thursday 3rd May at www.coronationstreettour.co.uk

Coronation Street tours – secrets and stories

With the first date Saturday 26th May, guided tours will then operate each Saturday up to and including July 14. After that, they will then run every Saturday in September with the final dates Saturday 3rd and Saturday 10th November. Tours will also run on select Sunday’s for group travel. The limited run means that fewer than 15,000 tickets are available for Saturday tours in 2018.

The 1.5 hour Coronation Street tours will be full of filming stories and secrets and packed with picture opportunities. Continuum Attractions has worked closely with ITV and the Coronation Street team to create the tour experience. Visitors will access the show’s external sets. These include the famous cobbled street, Rosamund Street and the brand new extended Victoria Street.

John Whiston is MD Continuing Drama & Head of ITV in the North. He said: “Turning the corner and stepping out on to the most famous TV street in the world never gets old, even after working here as long as I have. I still get such a massive thrill. To be able to now share Coronation Street with the most important people on the show – our audience – is very exciting and I hope they soak it all in and enjoy it as much as we do.”
