Costumes and Mascots: Rainbow Productions sponsors leisure industry award

News

An annual awards evening for the play industry, in partnership with Leisure Industry Week, took place on Tuesday 22nd September 2009 at The Manor Hotel Meriden, near Birmingham.

The Aspire Awards are organized by the Play Providers’ Association (PPA) and recognize excellence within the family entertainment sector, attracting entries from across the PPA’s membership.

The first PPA Aspire Awards were held in 2008, where Rainbow Productions sponsored the Award for Best Centre (under 12000 square feet).  For the second consecutive year UK mascot and licensed character company Rainbow Productions supported the event, this year sponsoring the first award of the night: Best New Site.

The Best New Site Award was awarded to Gambado Watford; the photo shows the Manager of this children’s entertainment centre being presented with the Award by Simon Foulkes, Sales & Marketing Director at Rainbow Productions – also joined by one of the licensed characters in Rainbow’s portfolio, Angelina Ballerina.

At the Reception prior to the Dinner and Awards Ceremony, Noddy made a special personal appearance to greet attendees as they arrived and to pose for photographs.
