A blockbuster dinosaur attraction – Dinosaurs in the Wild – is poised to roar into London next year following its sell-out success at Birmingham’s NEC.
After a stint at Manchester’s EventCity, Dinosaurs in the Wild will relocate to the Greenwich Peninsula in February.
The highly-acclaimed immersive live adventure propels visitors back in time to the age of every child’s favourite megabeast.
Through the magic of a time machine, they join scientists at a special research station – TimeBase 67 – constructed on the Late Cretaceous plains, 67 million years ago.
Here, the ‘dino tourists’ can drive alongside lumbering herds of dinosaurs, watch a dinosaur autopsy and witness hatchlings emerging from eggs. There is also the chance to visit a lookout offering panoramic views of a landscape teeming with prehistoric life. What’s more, guests eager for a truly-hands-on experience even get the chance to plunge their fingers into dinosaur poo.
The project’s Creative Director is Tim Haines, award-winning producer of the hit BBC TV series Walking with Dinosaurs.
“After the huge crowds for Dinosaurs in the Wild in Birmingham, and the anticipation we’re already seeing for our move to Manchester in October, we’re thrilled to announce that Londoners will now be able to time-travel too,” says Haines.
“It’s a completely new kind of immersive experience, in which we use the latest technology to make it feel like you really are there in that world, with the dinosaurs all around you.”
Over a hundred artists, technicians and other industry specialists have worked on the attraction. High-tech audiovisual effects, animatronics and live-action theatre combine to deliver a prehistoric experience never before possible.
The Dinosaurs in the Wild adventure lasts 70 minutes and incorporates the latest research findings to reveal that far from being green and scaly creatures, many dinosaurs were colourful and covered with feathers and fuzz.
“Everything in the experience is based on the very latest science, so as well as being fun, it is highly educational,” confirms co-producer, Bob Deere. ” Children have the time of their lives, but they learn a lot about dinosaurs too, and so do their parents.”
Dinosaurs in the Wild opens its doors in London on Monday 12th February 2018.
