Disney has revealed the Cinderella Castle at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom Park will receive a ‘royal makeover’. The iconic castle is set to undergo a major transformation in the coming months.
According to Disney Parks Blog, the Cinderella Castle will soon be even more magical, with a bold and shimmering transformation.
Disney’s animated film Cinderella was released 70 years ago this week, and the company has now shared a concept image of the enhanced Cinderella Castle.
The enhancements start in the coming weeks and run through summer. Shows including ‘Mickey’s Royal Friendship Faire’ and ‘Happily Ever After’ will continue.

“Cinderella first transformed into a princess 70 years ago this week when the animated classic was released, and ever since, her courage and kindness have been inspiring guests and cast members alike,” said Jason Kirk, vice president of Magic Kingdom.
“We are excited to share that her story has inspired a bold, shimmering and royal makeover of her namesake castle at the heart of Walt Disney World Resort.”
Sleeping Beauty Castle is currently undergoing its transformation at Hong Kong Disneyland. Last year, the theme park announced it was adding Disney Princess-themed towers.
The thematic towers, turrets and spires represent the stories of 13 Disney Princesses (and heroines). They are crafted with individual architectural designs.
Meanwhile, Disney has teased the new marquee for Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway. The ride debuts on March 4 at Disney’s Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World Resort.
Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, the first Disney ride-through attraction featuring Mickey and Minnie Mouse, is also launching at Disneyland in California in 2022.
