Disney has provided an update on Disney Skyliner, also reopening the new transportation system. The attraction malfunctioned earlier this month, not long after opening.
According to Disney Parks Blog, there has been “a complete review with the manufacturer”, with Walt Disney World making “adjustments to our processes and training”.
The website adds that “we are improving how we communicate with guests during their flight with Disney Skyliner”.
“We again offer our deepest apologies to the guests impacted by the malfunction that resulted in extended operating delays on October 5,” the statement reads.
Disney Skyliner gets review with manufacturer
Yesterday (October 14), guests at Walt Disney World could travel on Disney Skyliner from 8am to 10.30pm. Due to system updates later this week, the modified hours will be as follows:
October 16 – Disney Hollywood Studios line will be closed. The other two lines will be available from 1pm to 10.30pm.
October 17 and 18 – All lines will open from 1pm to 10.30pm.
The blog also notes that Disney Skyliner “may slow or come to some stops during the ride”, likening it to ski lift systems.
“We want to assure you that the comfort of every guest is important to us,” it adds.
Disney apologises to guests for recent malfunction
“We greatly appreciate your ongoing patience and understanding, and we look forward to welcoming you back aboard Disney Skyliner.”
Disney Skyliner recently closed due to a malfunction that left some guests in the air for hours. Three people were reportedly hospitalised and released.
Disney Skyliner connects Epcot and Disney’s Hollywood Studios to Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, and Disney’s Pop Century Resort.
It will also connect the theme parks to the upcoming Disney’s Riviera Resort, scheduled to open on December 16.
Some guests of transportation system were stranded
Guests will ride through the air in one of 300 gondolas, with nearly half of them featuring Disney scenes, characters, movies and attractions.
