Avengers Campus Disney construction

Disneyland remains closed to the public due to local COVID-19 regulations in California, however, Marvel fans have been treated to a glimpse of the park’s latest themed land.

As construction work is allowed to restart across the state of California, Disneyland is putting the finishing touches to Avengers Campus, the new themed land, which was originally set to open last month. The highly-anticipated Marvel-themed land replaces A Bug’s Land at Disney California Adventure.

Avengers Campus will include the Worldwide Engineering Brigade (WEB), where guests can enjoy the first Disney ride-through attraction to feature Spider-Man. Here, they will be able to put themselves in Spider-Man’s shoes, slinging webs and collecting Spider-Bots.

As well as WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure, which will see Tom Holland reprise his role as the famous superhero, Marvel fans will also be able to enjoy the Pym Test Kitchen, where Pym Technologies will be experimenting with growing and shrinking food.

The immersive lands will feature characters such as Black Widow, Ant-Man and The Wasp, Doctor Strange, Iron Man, the Guardians of the Galaxy, Captain Marvel, Captain America, as well as superheroes from Wakanda and Asgard.

One of the attractions featured in the latest pictures, posted by Disney Parks Chairman Josh D’Amaro on his Instagram account, is the Quinjet, which will feature in phase two of the expansion. D’Amaro took the new images during a tour of the site, with Marvel Studios’ Kevin Feige and Disneyland Resort President Ken Potrock.

In its official description of the land, Disney says it will be “comprised of several heroic locations—each hosted by a different Super Hero or their ally—to share their unique powers, technology and knowledge with recruits.”

Avengers Campus will also open at Disneyland Paris at a later date, alongside the revamped Disney’s Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel. The hotel will be home to over 300 Marvel artworks as well as themed suites featuring much-loved superheroes from the Marvel universe.
