DOF Robotics VR simulator wows shoppers in Portugal

DOF Robotics, the company behind the award-winning Hurricane 360 VR simulator, has completed a new VR retailtainment project in Portugal.

Visitors to the Almada Forum in Lisbon can now spice up their shopping experience with a ride on a VR Supernova simulator. Billed as the fastest simulation platform in the industry, the system is now fully integrated with Oculus GO to provide a high-speed virtual reality experience.

The new attraction has been an instant hit, drawing spectators as well as riders eager to try out it out for themselves.

DOF developed the compact ride to make a fully immersive experience available on a small footprint. Supernova can be configured for 4-10 people and can be enclosed in a cabin to provide an XD cinema experience. Allowing riders’ feet to dangle in mid air, coupled with the company’s rear-mounted Hexapod system, significantly increases the realism of the show.

Based in Turkey, with US headquarters in Los Angeles, DOF has been developing sophisticated simulator platforms for the amusement industry since 2009. With over 200 installations worldwide, the company puts the success of its products down to the high level of realism and high operating speeds that provide an addictive adrenalin rush.

The other key feature is accurate and stable synchronisation which, alongside smooth movement and ramping technology, protects riders from motion sickness.

DOF Robotics will be exhibiting at the Euro Attractions Show, 25-27 September 2018 at RAI Amsterdam. Meet the team to find out about the Portugal project and more, at Booth #1-1300.
