The owner of Dubai Parks and Resorts wants to develop its Lapita brand into an international chain of upscale themed family hotels.

Part of Autograph Collection by Marriott, the first Lapita Hotel opened in January. The Polynesian-themed property is located at the heart of Dubai Parks and Resorts (DP&R). The 504-key facility is perfect for guests who want to stay close to Legoland Dubai, Motiongate and Bollywood Parks. At the same time, it is also a fun destination in its own right.

Families and friends can stay in up to 60 suites and three villas providing ultimate comfort and relaxation. Boasting a serene atmosphere and lush landscaping, the family-friendly hotel offers five restaurants and bars, plus live music and entertainment. In addition, children can discover games and activities including Polynesian inspired arts and crafts.

DP&R’s parent company, DXB Entertainments aims to grow the Lapita brand by securing management contracts for further hotels close to theme parks and attractions in various markets.

“We are aiming for Lapita™ to become the leading family hotel chain in key entertainment destinations around the world,” explains Raed Kajoor Al Nuaimi, CEO of DXB Entertainments. “Strategically we want to establish ourselves locally [in Dubai] before expanding regionally and then globally.”

According to Mr Al Nuaimi, demand for hotel rooms at Dubai Parks and Resorts is growing: “In last few weeks of March, Lapita Hotel Dubai was close to full occupancy as the destination experienced some of its highest attendance numbers on the back of regional school holidays”.

Plans to expand the accommodation offer Dubai Parks and Resorts include the opening of the Middle East’s first Legoland Hotel.
