Dubai Municipality has announced that Dubai Safari Park is set to open with new interactive, educational and entertainment experiences on October 5 after closing in May 2018.

The opening comes after a renovation and development process to expand the facilities and improve the visitor experience at Dubai Safari Park.

Dubai Safari Park is set across 119 hectares and houses an expanded community of 3,000 mammals, birds, amphibians and invertebrates.

“As the momentum of recovery in the tourism market gathers pace, Dubai Safari provides an exciting attraction for both international visitors and residents,” said Dawoud Al Hajri, director general of Dubai Municipality.

“The redesigned Dubai Safari has many unique interactive programmes blended into the safari journey that provide visitors with a unique and memorable experience.

“Not only can they see different types of animals from across the world, but they can also enjoy activities, performances and shows that entertain as well as educate.”

Dubai Safari Park features new animals, including African elephants and giraffes. Rare animals include the Komodo dragon, Spiral-horned antelope, and Arabian oryx.

Dubai Safari is comprised of three main villages, the African Village, Asian Village and Explorer Village. In addition, it includes an Arabian Desert Safari tour.

The park uses sustainable and eco-friendly technologies and practices, with solar panels powering its buildings and electric vehicles.

Amid the COVID-19 crisis, comprehensive precautionary measures will be implemented, such as thermal cameras, social distancing, and hand sanitiser.

Meanwhile, Dubai Parks and Resorts is reopening Motiongate Dubai and Lapita Hotel with enhanced safety measures and new offers on September 23.
