Ecsite invites members to help develop new strategy

News
Ecsite AGM Copenhagen 2019

Ecsite, the European network of science centres and museums, is conducting a review of its strategy in order to build a secure future for the network.

Ecsite is pleased to announce that it is inviting all staff from its member organisations to join in with the consultation process and be part of the discussion during the course of this year. Events include design workshops across Europe as well as virtual workshops on several different topics. Conversations will also take place at the 2020 Ecsite Conference in Ljubljana, Slovenia from 11-13 June.

Ecsite would like to encourage members to be a part of the process, in order to construct a strategy that addresses what members want and need for the future of the sector.

Member workshops

There are five in-person design workshops taking place in March, April and May 2020. These will ask attendees to define trends in the science engagement field and challenge themselves with design thinking methodologies and creative activities. They will gain new tools and insights into the future of the sector. There will also be virtual workshops for those unable to attend in person.

These workshops are free and open to all members and colleagues from all job roles, from directors and facilitators to marketers and curators.

“We want to make sure that Ecsite’s new strategy meets the needs of our membership and rises to the challenges,” says Herbert Münder,  President of Ecsite and General Manager, Universum, Bremen, Germany.

The full-day workshops are as follows:

  • Brussels – 6 April
  • Munich – 22 April
  • Barcelona – 12 May
  • Helsinki-Vantaa – 15 May
  • Milan – date to be confirmed
