Ecsite launches new app with full programme for Ecsite Day

Ecsite, the European network of science centres and museums, has launched its new app ahead of Ecsite Day.

Ecsite is pleased to announce the launch of the Ecsite app, a new way to bring the science engagement community together. The release comes ahead of the Ecsite Day, a virtual day of connection and inspiration that takes place on 11 June. App users can now discover the full programme for the event.

The Ecsite web app version 1.0 provides a way for members to build connections, network and share inspiration with their peers.

The Ecsite app

Users can download the app and create a profile, with the ability to include relevant topics, keywords and interests in order to connect with others in the same field. Members can use the free text search system to find each other.

It also includes a meetups feature with digital rooms where science engagement professionals can meet with their peers, follow up on interesting discussions, present new ideas, collaborate on projects and more.

Ecsite Day 2020

Ecsite Day is a chance for members to enjoy free and accessible sessions, find inspiration, get stuck in to hand-on activities, and network with others in the community.

The full programme is now available on the mobile app, which can be downloaded here. Highlights include The Kavli Foundation keynote lecture, Design Fictions and the Near Future, delivered by Nicolas Nova.

Other dates to look forward to include Ecsite’s next webinar, entitled Creating and Enhancing our Digital Presence. This takes place on Wednesday 3 June at 3 pm CEST and will explore how institutions can develop a meaningful and coherent digital offer. More information and registration is available here.

Then on 19 June, Ecsite is also holding a business day, designed to give members the opportunity to find new market opportunities within the Ecsite community and beyond.

The Ecsite Board made the decision to cancel Ecsite 2020, which was due to take place in Ljubljana, Slovenia, from 11 – 13 June, due to COVID-19.
