A Queen Within: Adorned Archetypes takes an in-depth look at the topics of beauty, fashion and womanhood. It features fascinating items of clothing and accessories by cutting-edge fashion designers. It looks at the boundary-pushing and innovative work of a wide range of artists such as Vivienne Westwood, Chromat, Gucci, Studio Roosegaarde, Gypsy Sport, Selam Fessahaye, Prada, Comme des Garçons, Hassan Hajjaj, MaĂ¯mouna Guerresi, Gianfranco FerrĂ©, Anrealage, Ashish, Iris van Herpen and over 25 other international designers.

This new show is the result of a collaboration with Barret Barrere Projects. It comes at a key time and explores female archetypes as seen through the lens of fashion and design. It reaffirms the idea of fashion as a reflection of society, as well as being an art form in itself. The work featured includes pieces by designers who are interested in topics such as beauty standards, gender and identity.

Over 100 items on display

Queen within EDG A Queen Within Adorned Archetypes is a large scale exhibition which includes over 100 pieces of fashion, photography and video. It is designed as a dramatic gallery, looking at seven archetypal personality types. These are Mother Earth, Magician, Sage, Enchantress, Explorer, Heroine and Thespian. These archetypes recur in myths and fairy tales and help audiences to understand the visual symbolism of what it means to be female.

The exhibition is approximately 4,000 to 7,000 square feet, with a minimum ceiling height of 12 feet. There are many public programming opportunities for the immersive show, as well as a full-colour catalogue available in English.

EDG is going from strength to strength, having just appointed three new team members. The company will be presenting new shows at the AAM Annual Meeting & Expo 2019, as well as introducing its new project CultureNut Xchange.
