Embed, a leading worldwide supplier of point-of-sale and revenue management systems, has helped Scary Strokes to prosper during the pandemic with its Mobile Wallet solution.

Embed is pleased to announce that Scary Strokes in Waldorf, Maryland, is now benefitting from its award-winning Mobile Wallet. This means that the attraction is now able to offer safe, contactless gameplay and redemption options. Guests can top-up their virtual game cards from anywhere, at any time, without having to queue or to leave their current game.

Game cards are stored in the mobile wallet where they are safely protected by mobile encryption technology.

Future-proofing the business

In addition to improving the experience for guests, the Mobile Wallet also has many benefits for operators, like Doug Roth, President & CEO of Scary Strokes. It allows businesses to collect customer data, including details of transactions and spending trends. This data can then be used to create effective loyalty programmes and promotions, in order to drive return visits.

A recent update to the Mobile Wallet solution has seen the addition of a QR code system, making it easy for operators to track and trace customers in the event of a positive COVID test.

“When Embed introduced the Mobile Wallet, it seemed like a good opportunity for us to jump in and see what it was all about, and there’s nothing not to like about it. It’s clever and very convenient; there is no need to visit a kiosk or a staff member, guests can do everything from the comfort of their phone” says Roth.

Adjusting to the new normal

“2020 has tested our industry in ways that no one could have imagined,” says Renee Welsh, CEO Solutions Group.

“There is nothing I am prouder of than our powerful demonstration and commitment to our customers and industries recovery: Embed’s COVID-19 Relief Act, giving away our latest award-winning innovation, the Mobile Wallet for free to anyone (not just Embed customers) simply because contact-free, low-touch gameplay is what our industry most needs now.

“As promised in March, ‘make no mistake, we are going the social distance with you’ and here we are, adjusting to the new normal, with customers all over the world, re-opening and prospering during the pandemic.”

Earlier this year, Embed also launched Embed Hygiene Defence, a powerful and non-toxic line of cleaning solutions for the attractions industry.
