Germany’s largest theme park, Europa-Park, has announced the appointment of Michael and Thomas Mack to its Board of Directors.

2015 was a bumper year for the park with a record 5.5 million visitors passing through its gates.

With expansion plans already in the pipeline, the park says the new appointments will ‘ensure continuity in the company’s corporate policy.’

The most significant project on the horizon is ʻWasser-Erlebnis-Resortʼ which includes a water park and a new hotel.  Other plans include the addition of new attractions as well as infrastructure improvement projects.

In a joint statement, Roland and Jürgen Mack commented: “We are ensuring that the Mack family’s more than 235-year-old business will continue developing successfully. Based on that solid foundation, we carry on fulfilling our core business − excite our visitors every day.”

Michael and Thomas Mack have both been involved in managing Europa-Park for some time.

Michael heads up construction management, park operations, marketing, the in-house design department Mack Solutions and MackMedia. Past projects include ARTHUR – In the Minimoys Kingdom.

Thomas Mack leads the entertainment department, the theme park and hotel food services, and the logistics department. He has guided many projects including the park’s 2* Michelin restaurant ʻAmmolite – The Lighthouse Restaurantʼ  and Europa-Park’s first own musical ʻSpook Me!ʼ.

In addition, Europa-Park has announced that Klaus Hauer, head of the finance and controlling department, has taken on further responsibilities and is now in charge of procurement.

Apart from Europa-Park and the hotels, the group also includes the Waldkirch-based parent company Mack Rides, a manufacturer of innovative theme park rides worldwide.

Michael Mack will be speaking at blooloopLIVErpool on June 29th.
