Europa-Park’s sixth themed hotel, Krønasår, is opening in May as part of a massive 450,000 sqm resort extension, and ahead of the destination’s new water park, Rulantica.
Set to open at the end of May, 2019, the seven-storey, Nordic-themed hotel will accommodate up to 1,300 overnight guests.
Krønasår, based on a natural history museum, has 276 themed rooms and 28 suites.
At the entrance area, guests will be welcomed by the mystical and imposing skeleton of Svalgur the sea serpent – a character from the themed world of Rulantica.
A bridge links Krønasår with Rulantica via bridge, providing direct, exclusive access to the park for hotel guests.
One of the hotel’s restaurants, ‘Bubba Svens’, is designed in the style of an old boathouse, with 650 seats inside and 260 outside.
Fine dining restaurant ‘Tre Krønen’ features a ‘Chef’s Table’ for 20 people, offering ‘exclusive glimpses into the kitchen’, with 220 seats inside and 140 outside.
‘Café Konditori’, in the Scandinavian country house style, offers homemade cakes and more, while the Nordic discoverer-themed ‘Bar Erikssøn’ extends over two floors, with space for over 140 guests, serving typically Scandinavian Aquavit (distilled spirit), and Smørrebrød.
Terraces with views over a huge fjord
The restaurant and bar terraces provide views over a huge fjord to the opposite harbour, where Rulantica sits.
With the addition of Krønasår, Europa-Park expands its capacity to 5,800 beds. Also available are two function rooms – ‘Vineta’, with a maximum capacity of 260 people, and ‘Kon-Tiki’, with a maximum capacity of 16 people.
