Event Network wins SEAL Business Sustainability Award

Event Network, a leading cultural attraction retailer, has been recognised in the 2019 SEAL Business Sustainability Awards.

Event Network is proud to have been named a winner in the 2019 SEAL Business Sustainability Awards, which celebrate leadership, transparency and commitment to sustainable business practices. The company was given the SEAL Environmental Initiative Award, which recognises specific environmental and sustainability initiatives.

This award honours the company’s commitment to sustainable practices and its efforts to help the environment. It celebrates Event Network’s work to eliminate the use of plastics in manufacturing and packaging, which it does by working closely with suppliers. The company is also working to reduce the number of packing materials in order to decrease freight emissions. It has created several plastic-free store environments.

Commitment to sustainability

Event Network takes its commitment to sustainability seriously and has prevented the equivalent of millions of plastic bottles from ending up in landfill each year.

“It’s an honour and privilege to be acknowledged among the world’s most sustainable companies. Our concern for the environment is authentic and plays a critical role in achieving the goals of our partners for whom sustainability is also a core mission,” says Larry Gilbert, President and CEO of Event Network.

“A majority of consumers are receptive to adopting eco-friendly habits and consider products that are gentler on the environment when they shop, including how the product is manufactured, packaged, and shipped. It’s our job as responsible retailers to present options that are better for our planet, and lead by example by conducting business with this eco-conscious mindset.”

Real leadership

“Companies, CEOs and corporate boards have a simple but not easy choice before them: whether to exhibit real leadership by investing in sustainable business practices,” says Matt Harney, SEAL Awards’ Founder. “The sustainability leaders – like our SEAL Award recipients – can secure lasting legacies for their grandchildren and corporate stakeholders alike; ESG leaders will have reputations and balance sheets that survive the climate crisis.

“Our mission at SEAL is to rigorously assess and then celebrate extraordinary sustainability leadership. We are excited to present this elite and impactful 2019 award winner group.”

Earlier this year, Event Network announced the re-opening of three on-site retail stores and concessions at Tennessee Aquarium.
