Extreme Engineering, a leading adventure attractions company, has announced that the first Cloud Coaster in Asia is currently being installed at Vinpearl Land Phú Quốc.

Extreme Engineering is pleased to announce that its innovative family suspended coaster, the Cloud Coaster, is currently being installed at Vietnam’s Vinpearl Land Phú Quốc. This will be the first Cloud Coaster in Asia and will be ready to entertain visitors at the massive theme park, set to open later this year.

This project will feature jungle theming and will take guests on a journey above the grounds with stunning bird’s-eye views over the rest of the park. The Cloud Coaster ride vehicle was unveiled during IAAPA Expo 2019 in Orlando, where attendees had a preview of the bright colour scheme and the theming for Vinpearl’s new family coaster.

A fun glider experience

This installation will be Extreme Engineering’s largest outdoor Cloud Coaster project in Asia. Guests will enjoy a smooth glider experience on this family ride, which has a track length of approximately 400 feet (122 metres). The coaster takes in views of key landmarks around the rest of the park while providing a fun ride.

Due to the weather conditions in Southeast Asia, this particular installation includes custom finishes and paint coatings, to ensure it remains in top condition. A local, traditional feel is created by extra theming such as steel laser-cut dragons and vivid colours. In addition, the coaster also features bright green columns, to blend with the existing theme of the park.

“We were able to find a way to fit the coaster in a very tight space, minimizing the impact on required real estate from the park,” says Phil Wilson, Executive Vice President with Extreme Engineering. “The Cloud Coaster was designed to allow post-install anchoring, eliminating heavy-duty construction costs that you would typically experience on other attractions.”

The first in Asia

Installation is nearing completion, with theming taking shape around the coaster, its track and the ride queue. “It’s starting to become more of a reality when we can see track and coaster carts being installed.  It is so amazing how close it looks to the rendering,” says Wilson.

The company will also be delivering a Cloud Coaster project later in the year, in the Middle East.

At IAAPA Expo 2019, Extreme Engineering and The Producers Group also presented The Dark Rider integrated ride and show system, marking a new generation of dark rides.
