Extreme Engineering’s Cloud Coaster Opens in May at Margaritaville Resort, Biloxi

News

Leading creator of adventure attractions, Extreme Engineering, is poised to complete the installation of a Cloud Coaster at Margaritaville Resort, Biloxi.

Described by the company as ‘part zip-line and part flying roller coaster’, the new thrill ride is slated to open in May 2016.

Riders are suspended from the rail in a harness, just like a zipliner, before being propelled on a speed-controlled ride which promises ‘the triple sensation of flying, zip-lining and rocketing down a roller coaster with smooth turns, uphill racing and zipping around structures’.

“We are honored to bring the world’s only tandem ride, cart-less roller coaster to the Margaritaville Resort Biloxi, ” says Jeff Wilson, CEO of Extreme Engineering.

According to the designers, one of the benefits of the coaster’s streamlined construction is that riders are only subjected to only minimal G-forces, making it suitable for all ages.

The award-winning attraction is being installed in the Mississippi resort’s indoor-outdoor entertainment centre which also features a lazy river, pool, water slides and a wealth of arcade games.

“Our latest innovation provides an exciting, totally unique ride the entire family can enjoy, and will complement the resorts’ stellar entertainment offerings, ” adds Wilson.

Wilson, an engineer himself, founded Extreme Engineering in 1995, initially for the design and construction of extreme climbing walls. Since then, the company has grown into the world’s largest supplier of cart-less roller coasters, adventure parks, zip-lines, climbing walls and adventure products to the amusement and resort industries.
