Family-owned theme park chain Fun Spot America is investing $2m in revamping its Atlanta location, including the addition of a new multi-level go-kart track.
The go-kart track, dubbed the Samson Monster Track, will join new bumper boats and laser tag that have also been added to the Atlanta location of Fun Spot America.
Other improvements to the park include additional video games in the arcade room, a new point of sale ticketing system and updated infrastructure.
“We are excited to have launched construction on the new Samson Monster track and our various other improvements to our Atlanta property,” said John Arie Jr, CEO of Fun Spot America. “Once completed, this go-kart track will be the first of its kind in the state and definitely fun for the whole family.”
Fun Spot America is also expanding at its Orlando location and opened the new HeadRush 360 ride at the start of May.
HeadRush 360, manufactured by SBF Visa Group, sits 12 riders and is 12m tall. It swings riders round in 360-degree arc.
“We are very excited about the continued expansion of our Orlando location,” said Arie. “Fun Spot America is a staple in this community, and the more enjoyment and fun we can bring to both local families and visitors, the happier we are. HeadRush 360 is going to be a great addition to our attractions.”
The company added a new wooden roller coaster to its Kissimmee park last summer. The $6m bespoke coaster from the Gravity Group was a custom design with 687m of track, a lift height of 25m and a maximum speed of 78kmh.
