Legoland Water Park at Gardaland releases first-look video and concept images

Gardaland Resort in Italy has released a first-look video with concept images of the new Legoland Water Park. Opening in 2020, the attraction will have slides, pools, rafts, and a water play complex.

The video, posted to Gardaland’s YouTube, also showcases some of the work being done to create the water park.

In one section, the team can be seen building the water-themed Lego models, which will include a large polar bear and a Lego octopus at the entrance.

As part of the teaser, Gardaland has also unveiled renderings for the attraction’s entrance, built with giant blue and white Lego bricks.

Luca Marigo, sales and marketing director of Gardaland, said more than three million Lego bricks have been used to build 240 models so far.

“Good progress has been made on building the Lego Models, that will make the Legoland Water Park in Gardaland truly one of a kind,” he said (via The Mirror).

“240 models have been built with three million Lego bricks.

“One of these will be a large and friendly purple octopus, made of 258,126 Lego bricks, placed right at the entrance to the water park, ready to amaze all visitors as they arrive.”

Legoland and Gardaland are yet to release more details about the water park, but it’s thought it will be similar to Legoland Water Parks in Dubai, Malaysia and the US.

The 15,000-square-metre project will be the fifth Legoland Water Park. It will boast slides, pools, rafts, a water play complex, and Italy’s own Miniland.

“We are delighted that the first Legoland Water Park in Europe will be built at Gardaland Resort,”  said Gardaland CEO, Aldo Maria Vigevani.

“The Lego brand is renowned globally and will undoubtedly contribute to the continued strength of Gardaland Resort as a destination of choice for young families from Italy and beyond.”
