Gateway Ticketing Systems, a leading provider of admission control systems, has two employees in this year’s Power 10.

Gateway Ticketing Systems is proud to announce that Randy Josselyn and Matthew Hoenstine have been named in the Power 10 of the blooloop 50 Theme Park Influencer List in recognition of their work on the company’s award-winning Webinar Wednesdays series.

2020 was a difficult year for the attractions industry as COVID-19 swept across the world. In response, the third edition of the blooloop 50 Theme Park Influence list set out to celebrate creativity and expertise within the industry, with a special focus on individual responses to the pandemic.

Gateway reacted quickly as the crisis unfolded earlier this year, giving businesses the tools they needed to navigate their way through with its Webinar Wednesdays’ series.

Award-winning Webinar Wednesdays

Josselyn and Hoenstine put out the first edition of the webinar in a few days. It was initially just for customers and explored solutions in the company’s Galaxy ticketing and guest experience solution that could help with COVID related issues. More than 200 people viewed this first session and there was a clear call for a follow-up.

The following Wednesday, the pair discussed extending memberships and doing bulk order returns – two more COVID needs that had quickly become apparent, and more people attended. As a result, Gateway opened the sessions to the whole industry and the Webinar Wednesdays series was born.

Since the beginning, the webinars, which are now bi-weekly, have reached upwards of 800 industry professionals at a time each week. Topics explored include capacity management and revenue generation while closed, pricing strategies and retraining staff.

Expert insights

Josselyn and Hoenstine’s combined industry experience gives them the expertise to offer advice and accurately predict where the industry is headed and the sessions have also featured insights from experts across all sectors.

“Randy and Matthew have directly helped thousands of people and hundreds of attractions survive this pandemic,” says Peter Wolf, Director of Sales and Marketing at Gateway. “And what people didn’t get to see is the hours they spent brainstorming topics and ideas, the countless Tuesdays spent perfecting the delivery, the late nights tweaking slides, and the last-minute reacting to get a panellist on board because they had something relevant to say that needed to be delivered ASAP.”

“If you want to talk about true influence on the industry in 2020, then you have to have Randy Josselyn and Matthew Hoenstine top of mind,” says Greg Banecker, Sr. Marketing Manager at Gateway and Co-Producer of the Webinar Wednesdays series.

“Week-in and week-out, they had their boots on the ground speaking directly to the industry folks that were being hardest hit by this pandemic. You should see the emails of appreciation we get every week. This award is incredibly well-deserved.”

Gateway Ticketing Systems is sponsoring IAAPA’s Virtual Education Conference and last week asked for happy IAAPA Expo memories and pictures of #IAAPAshoes.
