geotourist create tourism app for scotland - Dundee

CEO of Geotourist, Shaon Talukder, says he is “proud to be part of Scotland’s tourism industry.”

Geotourist walking trails are a new way to connect with somewhere on a deeper lever using just your smartphone.  The trails are free to use and can be accessed via a free app that can be downloaded from the iStore or the Android app store.

There are 19 Geotourist trails across Scotland, taking in the vast diversity of Scotland’s rich history and landscapes. There are 9 trails in Dundee, 3 in Glasgow and 2 in Stirling. There are also trails in Edinburgh, Islay, Skye, Dunfermline and Dunkeld.

The trails vary in length and duration but are all easily accessible. They are narrated by BBC Coast’s Neil Oliver.

Shaon Talukder, CEO, of Geotourist said, “We are rightly proud to be part of Scotland’s tourism industry. The number of our trails underlines the fact that Scotland is so rich in history and culture – from its ancient and mythical past to the fascinating stories behind the architecture. Not only does it help visitors listen to tours for free through their own smartphone, which means they can immerse themselves as they move at their own speed, but it also means that there’s no need to sign up to an organised tour group. This makes it easy to take a trail in a quiet half hour or to help you orientate yourself when you arrive in a new place. We’re excited about our Scottish trails and welcome everyone to try it. When visitors have completed their tour, they can share it with friends and family for free across social media – so Scotland’s history could skip across the globe in a second”.

GeoTourist is your own personal tour guide for the world’s most interesting attractions, landmarks and beyond. Based on your exact location access auto-play guided audio tours in multiple languages right on your smartphone.
Geotourist also has a number of free walking trails all over the world, including Denver,
1066 Country in England, Western Australia, Los Angeles, Florence, Kiev, Paris and
Baltimore.
