Drive-through or drive-in experiences are officially all the rage, as another has been announced for Halloween. Set to open on October 8, Trapped takes place at The Industrial Event Space in Las Vegas.

The drive-in experience is designed to be enjoyed from inside your car as an innovative solution to the social distancing challenges presented by COVID-19.

Trapped will take place all around your vehicle, which is located within a haunted pod, using projection technology and a spooky soundtrack on your car’s radio.

It is being put on by HallowheelsLV, a group of local entertainment industry professionals committed to helping the entertainment community get back on its feet.

HallowheelsLV has partnered with The Back Stage Hope Project, with a percentage of the profits of Trapped going to local techs in need.

“You will experience intense audio, lighting, low visibility, fog, strobe lights, special effects, sudden loud sounds and actions in this psychologically demanding environment,” the website warns.

Trapped, which runs October 8 through October 31, tells the story of a desolate earth where governments have fallen and ‘order has been replaced by chaos, hope by fear, and life by death’.

Presented by Findlay Volkswagen and Wahoo’s, Trapped features mobs, bombs, hostiles and deadly traps, according to a press release.

All visitors must be aged 16 and over, and the maximum occupancy per haunt pod is two vehicles. Motorcycles and oversized vehicles are not permitted.

Elsewhere, Hyundai has partnered with the Museum of Latin American Art on a safe, free drive-thru art experience, Driven: A Latinx Artist Celebration, at the Hollywood Palladium Theater.

Recently, we’ve seen a drive-through haunt experience in Orlando named The Haunted Road, as well as a drive-through art experience in Rotterdam.

The Luna Drive In Cinema is also opening a drive-in cinema at Thorpe Park, and Netflix’s Stranger Things is getting a unique drive-through experience in LA this Halloween.
