Warner Bros opening first official Harry Potter flagship store in NYC

Warner Bros is opening the first official Harry Potter flagship store in New York City. Coming this summer, it will boast the world’s largest collection of Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts merchandise.

The magic of the Wizarding World will arrive in NYC with Harry Potter New York, located next to the Flatiron building at 935 Broadway, in summer 2020.

It will house the largest collection of Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts products in the world, including personalised robes, a new range of exclusive house wands, and Bertie Bott’s Every Flavor Beans.

The shop will have three floors and 20,000 square feet of space, and will also offer retailtainment experiences evoking the magic of the Wizarding World.

Sarah Roots, SVP worldwide tours and retail, Warner Bros, said: “This will be the largest dedicated Harry Potter store in the world and will become a must-visit fan destination where Harry Potter enthusiasts can engage with interactive experiences and numerous photo opportunities as they step into the magic.

“We are very excited to be opening in New York. It’s the ideal city in which to launch with so many dedicated Wizarding World fans, a cutting-edge retail environment and a community that embraces innovative experiences.”

JK Rowling‘s seven novels have inspired eight films in the Harry Potter franchise, as well as the Fantastic Beast films and an award-winning stage play, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.

Warner Bros launching Wizarding World experiences

According to a press release, Harry Potter New York will be part of Warner Bros’ expanding portfolio of Wizarding World experiences. These include 9 ¾ retail shops and Warner Bros. Studio Tour London – The Making of Harry Potter.

The Natural History Museum recently announced a major exhibition displaying creatures from the world of Fantastic Beasts and Harry Potter.

More information about Harry Potter New York will be announced later this year.
