Hersheypark announces the Candymonium hypercoaster, which will be the tallest, fastest and longest coaster at the theme park when it arrives in summer 2020.

The hypercoaster will have a lift height of 210 feet, a maximum speed of 76 mph, and a track length of 4,636 feet.

Candymonium will be located at the upcoming $150 million Hershey’s Chocolatetown expansion.

John Lawn, President and CEO of Hershey Entertainment & Resorts, described Candymonium as “the world’s sweetest coaster”, adding that the ride will “merge fun and iconic Hershey brands to provide a thrilling experience our guests can only get in Hershey”.

Tallest, fastest, longest coaster at Hersheypark

“We worked with leading industry manufacturer Bolliger & Mabillard (B&M) to assemble a one-of-a-kind hypercoaster with the most airtime of any coaster in Hersheypark,” he said.

Candymonium will feature a milk chocolate coloured track and trains themed to Hershey brands of candy, including Hershey’s Kisses, Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups and Twizzlers.

The park’s 15th coaster lasts for 2 minutes and 26 seconds, and will be the theme park’s most immersive and themed coaster experience to date.

Hershey brands feature on the coaster trains

Visitors will enjoy or endure a 210-foot ascent up the tallest hill in Hersheypark, before facing various drops, seven camelback hills, a 123-degree hammerhead curve, and a panoramic banked curve that wraps around the new Kisses Fountain.

Also heading to Hershey’s Chocolatetown are a new arrival experience and front gate, a new restaurant, bar and patio, an ice cream parlour, and a flagship shop selling the largest collection of Hersheypark merchandise, with interactive shopping experiences.

Blooloop previously chatted to Hersheypark General Manager, Kevin Stumpf, about the park’s ambitious expansion plans.

“The world’s sweetest coaster”

“Today we are a regional park and a tourist destination for millions of families,” Stumpf said. “And we think there’s still room for us to continue growing here in Hershey, Pennsylvania.”
