More details have emerged about Liverpool’s much-anticipated attraction, Royal Liver Building 360, including an immersive AV experience inside the iconic clock tower.
Opening spring 2019, visitors will have access to the building’s 15th floor, giving them a Liver Birds-eye view of the city for the very first time.
Operated by Heritage Great Britain, the Royal Liver Building 360 experience begins in a new visitor centre on the lower ground floor. Here, the building’s unique history starts to come to life. Visitors then continue up to the 10th and 15th floors of the 321ft building to make the most of spectacular 360° views across the city of Liverpool and River Mersey.
The tour will also take guests inside the building’s famous clock tower for an immersive audio-visual experience, projected digitally onto the walls around them. The projection mapping show is being created by leading experience designer, Holovis, a recent winner at the Park World Excellence Awards.
Royal Liver Building 360 – ‘an unforgettable bucket-list experience’
“Heritage Great Britain is unlocking this city icon and bringing it back to life for tourists and residents to enjoy,” stated Allan Leech, CEO of Heritage Great Britain.
“Guests will enjoy interactive displays, including a cutting-edge audio-visual presentation in the clock tower showcasing the history and culture of the city.”
He added: “Stunning 360° open air views across the Liverpool skyline and River Mersey make this an unforgettable bucket-list experience for locals and tourists alike.”
Chris Brown, Director of Marketing Liverpool, described the project as hugely significant for the city:
“There’s a real sense of anticipation for Royal Liver Building 360°. Opening up such a world-famous building will not only appeal to people locally but also the millions of tourists who visit Liverpool every year.”
The tour will take approximately 70 minutes. Groups will be limited to 14 people per time slot.
Liverpool continues to draw crowds to its increasingly diverse range of attractions. Both National Museums Liverpool and The Beatles Story smashed attendance records for the 2017/18 season.
