Imagineear, leading creator of interactive museum tours, have produced a collection of multimedia tours for one of London’s most famous attractions, the Houses of Parliament. Visitors can now enjoy 21 different self-guided tours over three sites.
The tours are available for visits to the House of Lords, the House of Commons and the Royal Apartments within the Palace of Westminster. Alongside the main tour, users can enjoy extra layers of content and highlights. As well as English and British Sign Language, eight other languages are available to cater to a wide audience.
Imagineear have also included an interactive family tour. The tour is in English and is designed to engage young people with politics. It is specifically aimed at primary schoolchildren and illustrates how they are able to have a voice in Parliament by getting involved in petitions and select committees.
New content adds to the visitor experience
The tours are full of new content, including new video and audio interviews. Users can listen to enhanced recordings of parliamentary discussions in stereo soundscape. They can also navigate easily with the use of an interactive map and a scrollable list of content. Foreign language visitors are catered to with the inclusion of contextual timelines – putting events into a parallel timeline with their own country.

The device is designed to support all day use, be easy to distribute, comfortable for visitors and in this case, provided in UK Parliament bespoke colour.”

Imagineear has produced tailormade multimedia content and apps for cultural, leisure and sports attractions in several locations around the world, including Europe’s largest flower garden and London’s Design Museum. The company recently announced that healthy growth has allowed them to move into new offices in London’s historic Fulham Palace.
