Simworx partners Interlink to create world's first Immersive Superflume attraction

Dynamic media attractions specialist, Simworx, has teamed up with water ride expert, Interlink, to create the world’s first Immersive Superflume attraction.

Immersive Superflume combines a motion base and immersive screens with a flume ride, to deliver a brand new ride concept.

“The Immersive Superflume is another exciting and highly entertaining addition to our continually growing product range and will bring a totally new dimension to the flume ride experience,” explains Simworx Managing Director, Terry Monkton.

“We are delighted to be working with Interlink on the project and to combine our expertise in immersive, media based attractions with their knowledge and experience in the creation of highly successful water rides.”

Immersive Superflume – boats move in synch with on-screen action

Riders board 16-seater boats using a conveyor loading system. Then, they sail through a dinosaur-themed area before entering an Immersive Tunnel section. At this point, their boat will stop and huge immersive screens on either side will come to life to provide a dinosaur adventure element. The boat’s movements are synchronised with the on-screen action to deepen the immersive experience.

Having escaped the dinosaurs, the ride will then continue through another dinosaur-themed section before entering a 12m vertical lift. This section will be enhanced with further theming and various special effects. Once at the top, riders will plunge into the final splash pool before returning to the boarding station.

Large screens accommodating 3D, 4K projection will be used in combination with an audio system to ‘transport’ riders to the heart of the action.

“The Immersive Superflume will take the ride to another level and will add an exciting and entertaining new element to this type of attraction,” adds Interlink’s Commercial Director, John Davies.

“We are looking forward to working with Simworx on the project and to developing what I’m certain will be a very popular ride with guests to the park.”

The first iteration of the new attraction is slated to open in December 2019 at a new shopping mall being developed by Trans Studio in Cibuber, outside Jakarta, Indonesia.
