One of the world’s leading aquariums is to install an Undersea Explorer VR Cinematic motion pod from the Immotion Group.
Shedd Aquarium in Chicago was the first inland aquarium in the United States when it opened in 1930. It now attracts 1.9 million annual visitors, who come to see its 1.5 million+ species.
In addition to marvelling at the marine life, guests will soon be able enjoy a range of virtual reality underwater experiences on the new Undersea Explorer, including the ‘edutainment’ offering Swimming with Humpbacks.
Comprising four individual pods, the VR unit from Immotion is already proving popular with several of the UK company’s aquarium and zoo partners. Another of those is Mote Marine Laboratory & Aquarium in Sarasota, Florida.
Quality experiences and the perfect VR product
Immotion has also supplied VR pods recently to OdySea in Scottsdale, Arizona, The Maritime Aquarium in Norwalk, Connecticut, and Merlin Entertainments’ Sea Life aquariums in Oberhausen (Germany), Sydney and Melbourne.
The Shedd, Mote and Sea Life installations have all been provided under a revenue share agreement.
