Immotion, the virtual reality entertainment specialist, has installed two new VR experiences. Visitors to the Mote Marine Laboratory & Aquarium in Florida, as well as the O2 Arena in London, can now enjoy an immersive virtual experience.
Immotion is pleased to announce the completion of two new projects. At the Mote Marine Laboratory and Aquarium in Florida, the virtual reality cinema experience offers a new experience at the family-friendly attraction. At the O2 Arena in London, a 12-station VR entertainment zone has been added, including Immotion’s new themed VR Arena and two VR cinema pods.
VR at the Mote Marine Laboratory and Aquarium
Visitors to the Mote Marine Laboratory and Aquarium can experience the new virtual reality cinema. It offers a fully immersive virtual journey with 360-degree views, sounds and movement. The VR pods can be found in the Exploration Gallery. Nine different experiences are available, including live-action swimming with whales and a computer-animated rollercoaster ride.
VR at the O2 Arena
Thanks to the Waterfront Limited Partnership (“Waterfront”), visitors to the O2 Arena can now enjoy Immotion’s new themed VR Arena. This four-person free-roaming shooting experience features the number one interactive VR game ‘Raw Data’. Guests can also enjoy VR experiences such as swimming with marine animals or taking a virtual rollercoaster, in two VR cinema pods.
Martin Higginson, Immotion Group CEO says, “I am thrilled to be bringing our VR experiences into such an iconic location as The O2. We are confident this initial trial through to early 2020 will prove successful and we look forward to working with Waterfront on a long-term basis.
“Our focus on quality high footfall edutainment and leisure locations does not get any better than The O2. Adding a range of VR experiences to this landmark destination will, we hope, make the visitor journey even more enjoyable.
“We continue to provide our partners with new exciting attractions that complement their offerings and generate valuable ancillary revenue for them, whilst building recurring revenues for Immotion. We believe this is a highly scalable model with global potential.”
Marion Dillon, Leasing Director for The O2 adds, “Immotion’s new VR entertainment zone is a great addition to The O2, providing visitors with a unique experience that complements the breadth of offers already available. Initiatives such as this are vital as they provide additional reasons to visit, or can help extend an existing trip, both of which help deliver additional sales for our retailers, cafés, bars and restaurants.”
Immotion also recently announced it will be installing its Undersea Explorer VR Cinematic motion pod at the Shedd Aquarium in Chicago.
